How to use

For containers and baskets: Place a layer of compost in the base of the pot. Tap out the plant from the old pot, loosen the root ball and place in the centre of the pot. Fill the space around the root ball, ensuring the compost level covers all the roots. Firm lightly, water thoroughly and let drain.

For beds and borders: Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Position the plant and fill with 50% soil and 50% compost and firm around the base. Water thoroughly.

NOTE: We strongly recommend using Miracle-Gro Peat Free Premium Azalea, Camellia & Rhododendron, Ericaceous Compost for acid loving plants like Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Heather.

Not just for tomatoes

Can also be used with crops such as aubergines and sweet peppers for maximum growth and flavour.

How to use

1. PLANTING: Shake the bag to distribute the contents. Cut out panels along dotted lines. When only planting two plants use the end panels. Delay planting tomatoes until the first flowers open.
2. WATERING: After planting, water in using about 6 litres (approx. 1.5 gallon) and then water as necessary to keep the bag moist.
3. FEEDING: We recommend feeding tomato fertiliser. Use 4.5 litres of diluted tomato fertiliser for most crops, use once a week. For heavy feeders such as tomatoes under glass feed twice a week when the fruit on the second truss has set.
4. GROWING TIPS: Avoid piercing the bottom of the bag to retain water. Train plants to fan out so that they receive maximum light and air. For best results feed with tomato fertiliser.

Where to use

Tomatoes under glass: Start feeding when the fruit on first truss is pea sized.

Tomatoes outdoor: Start feeding when the fruit on second truss is pea sized.

Peppers and aubergines: Start feeding when the fruit is the size of a golf ball.

Melons: Start feeding when the first fruit is swelling.

How to use

Levington® Ericaceous Compost is ideal for potting, taking cuttings, outdoor planting, tubs, troughs, window boxes and acidic beds.

FEEDING: After 4-6 weeks, we recommend regular feeding. When the plant is established, supplementary feeding during spring and summer is recommended using Azalea, Camellia, and Rhododendron Continuous Release Plant Food. This produces extra iron and reduces leaves yellowing.

How to use
Use straight from the bag, it’s easy as that. When filling or potting, firm lightly. Keep the compost moist and do not let it dry out. Do not leave plants standing in water. Storing Levington Peat Free John Innes No.2 from one year to another may result in the fertiliser ratios becoming unbalanced.

Before repotting, water plants well and allow to drain. Put fresh Levington Peat Free John Innes No.2 compost in the bottom of a new pot. Turn the old plant upside down and tap the pot sharply to release. Place the plant in the middle of the new pot and add more compost, firming lightly around the root-ball. Leave a space of at least 1cm below the pot rim to allow adequate space for watering. Water the plant well.

How to use
For pricking out seedlings: Loosely fill the tray or pot with Levington Peat Free John Innes No.1 compost and level. Use a dibber or small fork to loosen the compost beneath the seedling. Holding the seedling by a seed leaf, ease the seedling out of its compost keeping as much of the original compost sticking to the roots as possible. Make a hole in the new compost and place the roots of the seedling in the hole. Gently firm the compost around the plant, spacing out the seedlings evenly. Water gently with a fine rose to settle the compost around the roots. Keep in a warm, shaded spot protected from frost.

For potting-on rooting cuttings: Add a layer of Levington Peat Free John Innes No.1 compost to the bottom of the new pots or tray cells. Position the rooted cutting into the pot and top up with fresh compost around the roots. Water gently and keep in a warm, shaded spot protected from frost.
